Avec Elles (Ka'e mu'en) is a short documentary filmed in collaboration with the Senegalese communities of Sare Samba and Sare Janko in the Kolda region. Developed as part of the restitution phase of the Action-Research course offered by ArTeC, Paris 8 and Gaston Berger Universities, the project emerged from an immersive collaboration with local communities to identify the challenges they face in their daily lives, the strengths that pushes them forward, and the role of gender in shaping these experiences.
Through the perspectives of both women and men, the film explores how gender relations influence everyday life, community resilience, and local development. By bringing these voices into dialogue, the film highlights the different perspectives, expectations, and contributions that are part of their collective life, while emphasizing the importance of women's agency and participation in imagining shared futures.
To protect participants' privacy while preserving the authenticity of their testimonies, all personal statements were anonymized and performed in voice-over by members of the research group.
